Pjevalo se jutros na zagrebačkoj Šalati ”Večeras je naša fešta”. Izvukli su mlađi juniori Zadra 1952 posljednje atome snage i u jednoj tvrdoj utakmici slavljem nad splitskim POŠK-om 5:4 zasluženo osvojili brončanu medalju.

Nije to dobro izgledalo na početku utakmice. Poveo je POŠK sa 1:0, a Zadrani su djelovali pomalo uspavano. No, Jovančević vraća stvari na početak krajem prve četvrtine za 1:1, a potom se u drugoj četvrtini dvama golovima danas izvrsnog Vice Donata Magaša Zadar odvaja na značajniju prednost, 3:1. Bila je to teška utakmica, igralo se čvrsto, nedostajalo je svježine sa obje strane. Stajao je rezultat 3:1 na semaforu sve do polovice treće četvrtine kada svojom nesmotrenošću momci trenera Gorana Jovančevića dopuštaju Splićanima da u razmaku od 30 sekundi vrate stvari na nulu, 3:3. 48 sekundi do kraja treće četvrtine Zelić svojim prvim golom donosi prednost 4:3, no POŠK odmah u idućem napadu uzvraća za 4:4. Ušlo se s tim rezultatom u posljednju četvrtinu, a pobjednički gol na 3:05 do kraja utakmice, svoj treći, postiže iznimno raspoloženi Magaš.

Na golu Zadra danas je ponovno kao i cijeli turnir briljirao Jerko Jurlina, branio je moguće i nemoguće, te imao nestvarnih 17 obrana iz 21 pokušaja za nevjerojatnih 81% uspješnosti. Po svemu viđenom u ova četiri dana, zaslužio je titulu najboljeg golmana prvenstva, no ona je možemo reći iz kojekakvih nesportskih razloga nepravedno otišla u ruke vratara Mladosti. Sa 3 gola je Vice Donat Magaš bio najefikasniji igrač Zadrana.


Čestitamo svim igračima i trenerima na ovom izvanrednom uspjehu! Brončano odličje u zemlji olimpijskih vaterpolo pobjednika velika je stvar. Iza Zadrana su ostali giganti Jug i nekadašnji europski prvak POŠK, kao i Mornar, Medveščak te Jadran. Nadamo se da će ova generacija mladih zadarskih vaterpolista ostati na okupu, kako će grad imati sluha i poduprijeti njihov razvoj te vjerujemo da mogu zadarski klub vratiti u njegove najbolje dane iz 1998. godine kada su u šibenskom Solarisu u seniorskoj konkurenciji ravnopravno nastupali u prvoj hrvatskoj ligi uzimajući poneki skalp velikima. U sportu u kojem nema puno novca, nego je u prvom planu sport u pravom smislu te riječi, naši mladići su pokazali veliko zajedništvo te svi skupa možemo biti ponosni na njih, kao i na njihove roditelje koji su ih sportski zdušno bodrili u Zagrebu sva četiri dana. Bravo momci, vi ste naš ponos!
